Celebrated as the first single barrel, barrel-proof rye since Jack Daniel's began distilling rye in 2011, the Jack Daniel's 2020 Single Barrel Special Release Barrel Proof Rye Tennessee Whiskey is nothing short of incredible! Composed of a mash bill containing 70% rye, 18% corn, and 12% malted barley, this superior rye whiskey is classified as a NAS selection aged for at least 5-6 years and bottled at varying ABV% - depending on the barrel release (125-140 proof, or +62.5% ABV). Barrels for this selection were chosen from the top floor of various Daniel's warehouses and are filtered through roughly 3 feet of charcoal - contrasting most other Jack Daniel's bottlings. Highly coveted and wholly quaffable, enjoy a nose of maple syrup, breakfast toast, caramel, and vanilla over a palate of warm spice, baked bananas, and hints of peppercorns and dark fruits. About the brand

After leaving home at a very early age, Jack was taken in by Call and learned the art of whiskey making from another historically significant figure; Nathan ‘Nearest’ Green - an enslaved African-American man who worked as Call’s Master Distiller and who is the namesake of famed Uncle Nearest Whiskey.
