Launched in 2010, the Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix Single Malt Scotch is a tribute to a moment of tragedy felt by this renowned distiller when several of the facility's rooves caved in from too much snow one year. Rising from these ashes like the Phoenix of legend, this lovely whisky is crafted from a selection of Oloroso and American oak-casked Scotch aged between 13 and 30 years, specifically chosen by Malt Master Brian Kinsman. Snow Phoenix surrounds you with an aromatic blanket of cream blended with smashed banana, winter white flowers, and baking spices melted with rich butter; like snow in spring. The taste is sublime with fruits dipped in caramel and folded into ripe banana and wood spice. Memorable and wholly quaffable, the Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix Single Malt was produced in limited quantities and is an unforgettable expression of masterfully ‘winged’ whiskey.…

Sweet and rich, Glenfiddich through and through

Tasted at the mind blowing Chami Bar in Davos a humble bar that simply happens to sell measures of unicorn single malts at the cost of a standard Scotch in New York. The stunning thing about this whisky is that the flavors continue changing in the mouth starting with one thing then onto the next and another and afterward back once more falling and rising like the eponymous phoenix. I wasn' t ready to take notes at that point however it was completely adjusted and smooth.
