Suntory The Hakushu 18 year old Limited Edition Single Malt Whisky is an older, more mature sibling to the Hakushu 12 Year, but with age comes more complexity - and this exceptional dram has that in spades! Composed of 100% malted barley and bottled at 43% ABV, this significant Japanese malt whisky is aged for a minimum of 18 years in a trifecta of select casks, namely; ex-bourbon, ex-sherry, and the rare and noted Mizunara oak. The Hakushi 18 Year features a nose swirling in smoke, minty pine, and dashes of herbs complimented by hints of soft pear and sweet grapes. On the tongue are notes of island melons, more plumbs of smoke, and cream blended with dark chocolate.
