About the brand

We are a traditional Speyside distillery owned by a family of whisky-lovers intent on making single malt the right way with true character. We keep things simple. A handful of distillers relying entirely on our expertise and senses to make the finest handmade whisky; Speyside single malt matured exclusively in first-fill casks, with a subtly smoky character. It takes just four ingredients – barley, water, yeast and a human touch. All of our casks are hand-filled, individually weighed, stencilled by hand and stowed in our traditional dunnage warehouses. A decent however somehow or another disillusioning whisky particularly if your affection the Benromach Natural. It's somewhat peated and sherried to the nose (it's difficult to perceive more than that) with flame broiled meat added to the sense of taste. The completion is acceptable and has legs. I wish I could sound progressively excited however I think part about my concern is likewise the way that from numerous points of view this whisky truly seems to be a mitigated impersonation of a Lagavulin (the Distiller's Release) or maybe an Ardbeg. It's decent yet I'd preferably simply connect for an Islay.

Im drinking this today around evening time in London with my dad who purchased a jug after Whisky Trade delegated it whisky of the year. Benromach is close to the highest point of my value for-your-money rundown and this is maybe the best Ive had from them. The nose is somewhat timid however the taste is a delightful blend of butterscotch and peat not very sweet or excessively smoky. The completion continues forever the caramel flavors curving with the fieriness of the smoke. For 50 pounds a deal.

Tasting Notes

Nose

beautifully balanced sherry aromas with vanilla pod, zesty orange and spicy ginger complemented by delicate chamomile and menthol notes.

Taste

There’s luscious, rich fruit cake with stewed plum, red apple skin and the sharp edge of kiwi fruit.

Finish

The longer maturation softens its smokiness to hints of charred smoke while developing the wood imbued character of succulent honey, vanilla and fruit.
