Released in 2017 as a replacement for the 1824 range, the “Quest” series is a Travel Retail only release designed to bring the classic Macallan sophistication at a more affordable price point. Four expressions (Quest, Lumina, Terra and Enigma ) aim at highlighting a sensory journey that is Macallan’s "passionate and tireless quest for oak". This is the first significant change to the stable in seven years. Combines four cask types, including European and American Sherry-seasoned oak, American ex-Bourbon and hogshead casks, the Quest is Macallan's entry-level single-malt Scotch, and brings a multitude of elegant flavors spanning from citrus, apple and sweet spices to decadent oak and vanilla.
The final release in the Macallan Editions Collection, Edition No. 6 draws inspiration from the stunning natural landscapes around the Macallan Estate. A highly collectible limited edition bottle, Edition No. 6 uses 5 distinct American and European casks, handpicked by Macallan Whisky Maker Steven Bremner and designed as a celebration of the river Spey and nature around the Macallan property. Expect rich fresh fruits, nutmeg, ginger, toffee and vanilla, which give way to hints of cinnamon, oak, toffee and citrus, before a long, spicy and sweet finish - bottled at 97.2 proof.
The Macallan Edition No. 5 celebrates The Macallan’s extensive natural colour spectrum and the intricate whisky making process, in partnership with masters at the Pantone Color Institute™ to create a unique shade of purple that features on the packaging. This 2019 release in the Macallan's Edition series has been inspired by the natural colour spectrum of the Speyside single malt. Collaborating with the Pantone Color Institute, Edition No.5 was crafted from 100% American oak casks from three distinguished bodegas, selected primarily for their colour. Bottled at 48.5% abv, this limited edition is presented in packaging featuring the unique purple colour created by Pantone especially for this release.
